WTF happened? I was out for a couple of hours, came back to all the headlines about Boner losing his
House people, they DON"T LIKE HIS PLAN?

Now what? Will the President please hold another prime time thingy to lay into them? Call them crazy mother fuckers? Remind the American people about voting the next time around so that the lunatics/terrorists are NOT in Congress next time?

I hope the TV/Cable news media is actually informing people of what is going on
Rather than pretending that the House People have a legitimate point of view. But that is a hell of a lot to hope for.

3. We need to be PAGING Axelrod, Plouffe...etc. Need to see commercials on TV in every market
blasting these people, running clips of them talking crazy...etc.

9. Axlerod and Plouffe are really part of the problem. Never underestimate the ability of the Prez and

his staff to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

16. Yeah, because with Axelrod and Plouffe, Obama ran such a lousy campaign. In fact, it was SOOO bad
that he lost to the Clinton *and* Rove machines!!

:sarcasm:

20. It was a nice campaign but it was just that. A campaign. The rhetoric has proven empty.

23. I disagree!! Give him more progressives/liberals and less Blue Dogs,
DLCers and GOP, and you'll get more progressive/liberal policy outcomes. I'm 100% convinced by this. It takes Congress to pass legislation. The president doesn't have a blank check. That check is in the hands of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate, NOT the president.

We MUST learn what the U.S. Constitution says!!! The "power of the purse" lays with Congress, specifically the U.S. House, NOT the president!!!

11. The 'House People' (by which I assume you mean the Tea Baggers)
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 03:27 PM by coalition_unwilling
have a legitimate point of view, i.e., that it is morally appropriate and worth it to force a global economic crisis and U.S. constitutional crisis over the government's right and duty to issue debt. I disagree with that point of view, but it's certainly legitimate. Or, I should say, as legitimate in a nation groudned upon due process of the law as not investigating the Bush Junta for crimes against humanity and war crimes on the specious grounds of needing to look forward rather than backward.

However, does Cantor have any hold over these nuts? I was listening to the teabag house people talking last night, their view is

- default would not be so bad
- we have the money to pay our debts, we just need to slash all spending of "wasteful government programs"

10. Cantor IS one of those nuts!
That, and you can almost see the drool running out of his mouth as he's repeating "Speaker of the House Cantor" to himself, over and over and over...

they were on the playground with the other kids.

They might have grown up physically, but that's about it.

8. The next set of demands by the House Tea Party assholes
Even if Obama accepts Boner's current plan and caves, their next set of demands will be to have Obama personally come to their homes, wash the windows, scrub the floors, shine their shoes, and then pick cotton on their plantations. If he does that, maybe then they'll agree to raise the debt ceiling. But even then...

He wouldn't even criticize the Tea Party by name last night. Instead, it was a "Washington problem."

Obama needs to grow a pair.
