The "Suicide Bomber" analogy fits...
The Republicans want to suicide the economy in order to uphold their theology--that taxes are of the Devil, and should be resisted at every turn.

Suicide bombers in Iraq and Palestine will strap on vests laden with explosives, walk into public places, places where even friends and family members may be at the time, and trigger an explosion, losing their own lives, and harming innocent people who have done nothing to them in order to prove a point.

Republican lawmakers in Washington, driven by the rabid TEA party types, are acting like suicide bombers. They're deliberately going to not vote for an increase in the debt ceiling, and deliberately will not force the top 2% of the monied class to share in the sacrifice that the rest of us have already. They will harm their fellow citizens, family members, friends, those who voted for them (though some of these will never understand when they've voted against their own best interests), and entire communities in this nation.

It might be called obscene. It will surely be called bombastic and incendiary. None of these stop it from being true.

1. It's absolutely true.
They are economic suicide bombers. They are willing to take the whole economy down in furtherance of their ideology, even if they go down with it. It is horrifying and disgusting and nobody seems to be able to do anything about it.

3. They certainly have that narrative of the rapture running through their brains. Also, people
around sadistic folk, and some in the leadership certainly are psychopathic and sadistic (limbaugh), can become partially masochistic as a survival mechanism. Explains the religion of Ayn Rand too.
