Rep. Trent Franks Opposes Boehner Debt Ceiling Proposal
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/07/28/282060/trent-franks-opposes-boehner-debt-ceiling-deal/

The National Journal confirms that Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) opposes the debt ceiling proposal that House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) put together and will vote no. He is the 24th Republican to publicly oppose the bill. Because Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) will not be voting due to his health condition, Boehner needs 216 Republicans to support the measure. At this point, he cannot lose anymore Republicans, or if he does, he would need to pick up Democratic votes.

Rep. Maurice Hinchey's, D-N.Y., office has told National Journal that he will not be voting today, as he has not all week. That, combined with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., still being away, means that with two vacancies there will be, at most, 431 Members voting tonight. Therefore, House Speaker John Boehner needs 216 votes to pass his bill. Without any Democratic help, he can still now lose 24 Republican votes if all the rest of the total 240 Republicans show up and vote his way.
