With some of the shit going around DU lately, it's gotten REALLY fucking hard to tell.

23. If he goes with teabaggers, they and him will get crushed in the 2012 election.
Voters hate ineffective government. If Cantor takes over as speaker, his recalcitrance will freeze the House and render it ineffective. Republicans, as the majority in the House will be in line for the blame, democrats would only need to use the faces of cripples like Rep. Walsh to destroy republicans at the polls.

Boehner is inept and obsequious.

Cantor is the stuff of Lady MacBeth's dreams.

If Boehner has any brain cells not yet soaked in booze he's likely wearing a knife-proof shield on his back to protect himself from Cantor. For that matter, no one in Washington should ever turn their back on Cantor.

26. If Cantor becomes Speaker his ineptitude will come to the forefront.
Cantor becoming speaker could be one of the best things to happen for democrats heading into the 2012 elections. His lack of empathy and depth will damage the republican brand beyond repair, leaving the party open to massive defeat at the polls. Cantor becoming speaker would seriously endanger people like Scott Brown of Mass, Snowe of Maine and it would help the democratic senators that are up for re-election. And Cantor as speaker would absolutely destroy House republicans at the 2012 polls.

ineffective. The Senate will look absolutely sane under democratic control. The Indies and democrats that voted in teabaggers in 2010 will rue their votes and either sit at home or vote against the bastards. All the while, the nation will grow to despise Cantor's fucked up, smarmy face.
