Dennis Kucinich on the Debt Ceiling: Take Back Our Country and Our Currency
" I carry the Constitution with me. I want to tell you something. We shouldn’t have to get to that . But Congress ought to familiarize itself with Article One, Section Eight, which says the Congress has the power to borrow money, sure, but it also has the power to coin money, to make money.

We gave that power over to the Federal Reserve back in 1913. It’s time that we understood we don’t have to go to banks to get money. The United States is a sovereign government. According to our Constitution, we should be able to invest in our own people, create the jobs.

We shouldn’t have to rely on banks. We cannot be at the mercy of banks in this country. That’s not a democracy. I think that it’s time the Congress studied that provision of the Constitution as well.

-Dennis Kucinich on the Ed Schultz Show"

to end the Fed and give Boehner control of currency?

That's Ron Paul's position.

3. Not really
Obama would have WAY more power since he appoints the head of the US Treasury which will control the coinage of the currency.

4. The argument here is giving Congress more power
not the President. It effectively says that the Fed should be abolished and matters of money be controlled by Congress.

That's a recipe for friggin disaster (see current situation).

Obviously, this assessment was correct.

7. It would have to include a better choice
of representation. And a more OPEN choice of candidates than we currently have. And PAPER ballots.

Nothing happens in a vacuum.

8. Kucinich throws out another half baked idea. I don't expect anything better
from him. Yes Dennis, give Boner and the band of jackals that he leads control over all the nation's finances. What a damned foolish suggestion.

5. Ron Paul and ALAN GRAYSON co-sponsored a bill similar to what Kucinich is
suggesting, and if you know anything at all about the Federal Reserve then you know why it makes sense.

6. Nonsense
Grayson bill was to audit the Fed and create transparency, not to give Congress control over currency.

9. Fed or Congress?
Would you rather have private banks controlling our currency or the Congress? I'm just learning about this myself. I'd like various opinions on the matter.
