Girl wasn't playing hide & seek when she died. Relatives used box as punishment
I posted about this a few weeks ago. girl died 'playing hide and seek'. Relatives had lied. They put her in a box, outside as punishment.

--------------------------------------

(CNN) -- Four members of an Arizona family have been charged with murder in the death of a 10-year-old girl whose body was discovered locked in a box outside her family's house. She had suffocated.

Police released a statement saying the four relatives of Ame Deal had been entrusted with caring for her. The arrest came after police said they learned that the family routinely confined her inside the box when she misbehaved.

John and Samantha Allen, both 23, were charged with first-degree murder after confessing they had locked Deal in the box July 12, the statement said.

Cynthia Stoltzmann, 44, and Judith Deal, 62, were charged with child abuse and kidnapping after both admitted they had locked the girl in the box on previous occasions, it added.

When first questioned, the family members told police that Deal had climbed into the box and suffocated while playing hide-and-seek, police said.

1. that poor girl
seems the "adults" in her life were not only cruel but had no sense. Locking a child in a box in what had to be a hotter then hell situation - damn, it was torture before they murdered her.

2. If I lived to be a million, I'd never be able to understand this type of crime.
It creeps me out, that last line referencing her dog.

"I don't break down well in front of other people, but when I'm by myself, I can lose it real easy," Stoltzmann said. "She was an awesome hider, let me tell you. ... There were places she would squeeze into that I didn't think my dog could squeeze into."

But Crump said that, after investigating the incident, police came to believe the girl was killed.

Crump said Thursday that the case has troubled even veteran detectives.

"This child died at the hands of those who were supposed to love and care for her. ... This case has turned the stomachs of some of our most seasoned detectives," he said.

10. I read in another article that the girl was 4'2" and the box was 30"x14".
That little girl gave her life up for a popsicle. I hope there is a HELL.

7. A good question.
My own question in response is "Where they perhaps receiving foster-care checks for taking her?" because I can't find the answer.

22. I'm sure that they were.
They live in a bad area of PHX. I wouldn't walk down that street without worrying about being shot or robbed or raped.

AZ CPS screws up AGAIN.

4. that breaks my heart. I feel bad when I send my kids to their rooms!! I couldn't imagine doing
such an awful thing!! I don't understand how people could hurt kids like that I just don't get it. There are better ways to discipline kids. I know every kid responds to different things, but I have found what works for my kids is rewarding good behavior and they seem to respond to losing privileges.... a week without tv seems to do wonders. or video games. or anything electronic. I've gone so far as clearing my daughter's room of everything but her bed and her dresser before and making her earn everything else back. But never anything like that!! I understand WHY people do that sort of thing... The do what they know. It was probably done to them. But it doesn't make it right.

if you cant behave in a manner around others, then settle until you can be around people. but the joke was, i never told them they couldnt read a book, play with toys. was simply seperating them from people that did it.

sigh... i have just gotta really figure how lucky i am and knocking on wood. i have not had extreme with either boys. yet. i say yet cause the "troublemaker" could be my youngest adn he is only 13.

edit... not troublemaker. search for independence and automy. at this point, we have been able to walk the line

9. yes. separate from situation is a more appropriate term. i do that to myself too. tell my kids i
need a time out. we both need a time out. We all need to be able to follow the rules. I tell my kids that. It's ok that you don't like that I told you you couldn't do x but your reaction was inappropriate. No we don't hit people I don't care what they did to you. It was especially difficult with my oldest and school because Emily would get in trouble a lot and I would ground her at home while I am sure the other kid never got in trouble for anything. I would tell her, now you are sitting her grounded and what is so and so doing? Are they grounded? No. They loved getting her to react and getting her in trouble and then she would end up in the principal's office and they would get nothing done to them. And no I am not being just one of those parents. this has been going on since kindergarten pretty much. Emily has thankfully finally learned what I have been trying to teach her.... she'd be grounded and they would be laughing and having a great time. They got what they wanted.... she finally learned to ignore them.

13. An eye for an eye - it's nicer to them than what I'd like to do
Stuff 'em in a box the same size in the same weather, leave 'em for the same time. If God saves them, then they were meant to live.

14. This article is more detailed--and more horrific:
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 04:09 PM by tblue37
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2020004/4-charged-death-Ame-Deal-10-inside-plastic-container-punishment.html

What offends me most is that the neighbors knew all along that Ame (that's how the articles spell her name) was being tortured and abused (even having dog feces rubbed on her face and forced into her mouth!), but they didn't report the abuse because they "didn't want to break up the family."

There were a LOT of other children--even ones in diapers--who were abused, too, though none as badly abused as little Ame, but even with all those abused kids wandering around the neigborhood, the neighbors "didn't want to break up the family" by reporting the abuse.

I want to puke!

This has been all over the radio.

The neighbors...."I knew something was going on over there". Call Silent Witness or 911 you dipshits.

Gotta love CPS in AZ.
