3. Kind of OT - but why do they "debate" when they don't
change anyone's mind, when the only ones watching are wonks like us?

I just never thought it accomplished anything, but maybe that's not the point?

6. Because their words will be written down in perpetuity
and they really need to state what they believe whether anyone out here is listening or not. Look at us going back to the words of Adams and Jefferson. And look at what an ass Hamilton was.

10. When the debt crisis could solved by them calling the House
and Senate to order and voting to increase the Debt Ceiling.

The Teabaggers got to cute and decided to attach passing the
the Debt Ceiling to Deficit Reduction. By doing this they
manufactured a crisis. They knew full well there would be
problems because their (TBers) demands too high.
