Well, I told him you voted Republican what did you think would happen.

My neighbor and his wife will facing a nursing home in a few years.

The chickens have come home to roost.

No I don't feel sorry for him.

2. Just curious which part of Texas you are in?
Geographical, not city.

I am in the eastern part of the state...and there is a lot of disgruntlement, but they have managed to circle it back around to blame on the Democrats.

5. Houston, we are liberal here.
We have a gay mayor and Bill White carried when he ran for Governor.

We still have some Republicans like my neighbor.

9. I actually just got a really nice job offer down there
I've never been a paperwork nurse, but this is what I am doing now and I don't really love it.

The job in Houston however, is hands-on working with the transplant team. It is very tempting. I might pick your brain about living down there.

The teabaggers are really bringing me down in my area.

The summers suck, but the rest of the year is fine.

30. The cities are liberal but the country side tends toward republicans.
We are close enough the Galveston for a day trip.

Austin is just a few hours away.

Watch out of housing, lots of townhouses going up in the inner city.

The prices have dropped, I think there are a lot of repo houses for sale around my neighborhood.

32. I looked around and saw some rents around the Montrose area
and they were a little high.
I am not sure where I would like to be--but it is certainly something to consider.
Thanks!

34. In my neighborhood townhouses that went for $350,000 are now going for $250,000.
They were overpriced to begin with, I live close to the Montrose.

I love the Montrose.

17. How can teachers, union members, anyone earning less than $50,000.
Vote repub. But they do. I blame some of this on three Gs, god, guns and gays. Repubs play to fear, ignorance and bigotry which apparently trumps self interest. I will never understand how so called Christians can support the repub agenda.

losing her eyesight. I told her she needs to look up the word socialism before condemning it.

Now that their SS will be cut, their shitty voting record means something. Dumb asses.

7. I wonder if he would have come to that enlightenment
if this whole debate hadn't taken place?

If Congress had simply raised the debt limit, the Teabaggers would have had a little more cover.

Say what you will about the "drama" or "theater" of this whole thing, this is one of the benefits.

Bonus points for the guy actually understanding who really wants to screw over SS/Medicare.

29. Yep
that certainly is one of the serious possible consequences. Younger Tbaggers need to realize how much their own future is in jeopardy. But they get no education in what's really going on. So I'm glad to hear that some of the older TBaggers are wising up. Maybe they can enlighten the younger ones.

33. That's right
be sure to remind the teabaggers of this when their drooling grandmas/grandpas are shitting all over their sofa. Nursing homes are expensive and billionairs need tax cuts, so why would they complain? This is what the teabaggers wanted afterall.

27. That is one of the things I give Obama credit for - he has let them
put their ideas into writing in various bills and made them public. As I have said before they have written out ads for 2012 themselves. Wake up America.

As to the lady who does not think her SSDI is government - I would have said to her if you hate socialism that much you need to get off SSDI immediately - it is the most liberal program we have.

These people that listen to Limbaugh and Fox News always think it's the other guy that will get hurt. Those lazy welfare recipients that won't get a job. Will they get more informed now? I sure hope so.

22. A conservative friend of mine today posting something on facebook
about how he paid cash for his social security and that it was not an "entitlement program: that could be done away with. I told him that none of the entitlements were charity: SS, disability, unemployment, medicare, were all insurance programs that we had paid for and thus we are entitled to them. I think they crossed a line threatening SS that they will live to regret.
