1. And what the hell is this "super-congress scam?"
Did we vote for it?

10. It is good old fashioned taxation without representation.
Do the math:

6 Senators on the "Committee", 94 Senators NOT on the "Committee".

6 Representatives on the "Committee, 429 Representatives Not on the "Committee".

That means that the vast majority of Americans will have absolutely NO Senator or Representative who has input into the decisions about taxation. NONE.

Once upon a time, ihe gall of the overlords to impose taxation without representation sparked a revolution. :patriot:

Perhaps it is time for history to repeat itself.

2. The requirement is that there will be an
up and down vote....DEMS will be able to vote DOWN anything they believe is wrong...and if something gets through, Obama may VETO anything he doesn't agree with....

This is a HUGE if DEMS do what they are supposed to do in the House/Senate....It appears that the GOP's use of a filibuster won't be possible in the Senate so up and down votes can occur...

If that is the detail in the deal, Obama & the Dems have won!

(My fingers are crossed & I'm sending up offerings to the Great FSM that this is what is happening)!

5. But, if the recomendations don't pass, automatic cuts (not revenue)
go into effect including to Medicare. Yeah, huge win there.

:sarcasm:

8. Including Defense and whatever pet projects the Tea Baggers have in their own districts
They can be left to explain why they voted for the defense cuts and infrastructure projects rather than tax hikes. I suspect that Dems will have an easier time explaining provider and insurance company cuts to Medicare rather than Social Security cuts than the GOP will have explaining that.

6. Including massive tax increases

The difference is that the Dems will get to choose between cuts they don't like and across the board cutrs, and the GOPers will have to choose between tax increases they don't like and cuts to their defense and pet project buddies. The GOPers have their backs against the wall on that one, which is why they're already screaming bloody murder about it.
