I'm beyond angry: 3000 people died in Central Falls RI for us
3000 people rose up during the great depression and charged a textile factory only to be machine gunned down by the factoey owner goons. RI broight back the workhouse. The inmates were starving and so pathetic that people would throw bread over the workhouse walls.

These people suffered and died for us, They made the world a better place. How can we forget this?

I am going to say a prayer and ask God for justice. That's how I am going to remember today.

8. Don't have a link but if you want the full tale of horrors
The providence journal ran a full series on the Great Depression in RI. It was not a pretty story. My mothers family came from Pawtucket RI which hit 70 per cent unemployment. Textile mills went south.

21. Maybe, but those who bend it and distort it are no help either.
Sounds kind of dumb to blurt out three thousand people died when it was actually four. I understand rounding up but that is ridiculous.

18. Unrec for false OP.
What you state, never happened.

3000 people never died in any one violent action against Labor in this country, ever.

It is NOT ok to do that, it only negates whatever point you are trying to make.

20. Funny how people keep asking for citations after one has been provided
Obviously the OP misstated who died and who was merely gunned down and injured,

or forced to work in the workhouse (not important, so long as they didn't die, right?)

22. Some of us cherish accuracy. Some of us just want to rile the blood.
I prefer the former with a small dose of the latter.

24. Ah, you're right, the title is misleading. Obviously the OP misread the article he/she is quoting.

I wasn't really looking at the title of the thread when I read it. Figured it had to do with Social Security or something.

25. Why do you feel the need to lie about the number of casualties?
Poisoning the well?

There's more than enough real sacrifice by labor pioneers that there's no need to fabricate outrageous numbers. Maybe you should "say a prayer and ask God for accuracy" before you worry about "justice".
