I don't see how this thing is going to pass both houses. It seems both the left and right are upset
by what the agreement is.

If this doesn't get enough posts what does Obama do?

4. No, it's clear Congress will pass it. The House will have the Democratic votes.
All they need is a hundred or so Republican votes. Yes, there are Democrats who are against the deal regarding the super congress crap, but they will be convinced it is a year long compromise (once we win back the House it will be a no brainer to fix).

5. If that is the case ....
Won't the GOP and their little tea baggers "own" the consequences? Then it will be default (that idea makes me ill but Obama and Dems will have been the ones to have made the best faith effort at compromise), a clean debt ceiling vote (which I agree would be the best for everyone) or use of the 14th amendment (which would probably lead to another big mess).

When is the Senate vote scheduled? Anyone?

3. Key part: "...It seems..."
I'd be shocked if it doesn't pass.

7. Did you mean posts or votes?
If you meant votes, yes, I suspect you may be right. Only if Democratic votes appear in the House, does this thing go through.

8. It's like TARP in 2008, which failed the on the first vote,
which was about as close to a revolution as it gets in this country.
