Politics won, nothing more. A bunch of shit. My President showed me he'd rather give everything away
than stand up and fight. My President threatened my family's Social Security and Medicare. My President gave the Right almost everything they wanted, and while I struggle to pay my bills every month, his masters light cigars with $100 bills.

It's all bullshit. He's concerned about HIS future not mine.

Hindsight, worthless in politics. At least during the Booshe years, they lied to your face and smiled.

Fucking bullshit, fucking bullshit.

25. And that is the proper way to have a discussion?
Your all-purpose answer to questions you don't like, sticking your fingers in your ears and going "Lalalalalala"?

Republicans do that.

Bachmann does that....Palin does it when she gets asked a question she cannot answer.

Sad, really.

And you want people to take what you say seriously?

10. That's a bullshit answer....a week ago everyone was convinced that entitlements would be cut....
We knew spending would be cut. And now people are running around acting like cuts are the most terrible thing that could happen? It's 100bn a year, which is chump change.

13. Spending cuts = R's get a chance in 2012.
It's a terrible deal because it is exactly wrong for the economy.

The R's know it, and are elated that Obama's economy is going to at best remain crappy until the election. If they're lucky, we can get a double-dip and Gov. Goodhair will get elected.

21. "chump change". seems to be a talking point. it's the equivalent of eliminating the dept of Health
& human services + the dept of energy. every year, for 10 years.

14. The "outrage brigade" remains pissed because it was incredibly stupid to make a deal at all.
Edited on Sun Jul-31-11 11:30 PM by jeff47
Spending cuts is exactly the wrong thing for the economy right now.

The reason this deal is terrible is not because of anything about entitlements. That would have made it criminally terrible. This meerely terrible deal should be labeled the "give the Republicans a chance in 2012 act".

As for something he actually DID give away, remember how Obama used to demand that the deal contain new taxes? Now we get fed some crap about "we might possibly think about getting some when the 'Super-Congress' makes it's deal." Somehow, not inspiring.

18. Yet, if he had "stood up" and fought, people getting SS checks would be shit out of luck in a...
couple of weeks when there were no longer any Treasury employees on the job printing them out and mailing them.

I believe you're experiencing confirmation bias, my friend.
