Freepers calling it a win for Dems and Obama
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2756790/posts

Obama and the Democrats win:

1. Phony cuts. Spending will still increase significantly every single year in sight. There will be hardly any change in the anticipated budgets for the next couple of years so that incumbents can still trade pork for votes and campaign financing.

Moody’s and the other ratings agencies say the cuts, even including the ones from the committee, are not nearly enough and that they will be downgrading us — as they should. Tell me, why is the mainstream media so silent and unconcerned about real downgrades as a result of our deep structural problems, which are an order of magnitude more serious than any downgrade from a short term debt ceiling problem?

2. Then, later this year, we have a choice of a) tax increases that will surely come from the phony committee or b) unreasonable and dangerously deep cuts in defense and security spending.

The establishment Republicans win because they will point at this phony bill and claim they are holding the line.

Politics as usual wins. The country loses. We are still on the suicidal path of becoming Greece.

----------

I hate to say it but I will actually be surprised if there is an election. I think will may be stuck with Dictator Bozo forever.....This has been the goal of the majority of DC IMHO otherwise they would have taken some action against the TRAITOR in Chief for his many of his doings.

-----------

Republicans that vote for this joke are going to pay dearly early next year in Primaries or in November

I so hope you are correct.

-----------

Wow. $ 1 trillion over 10 years.

Big deal. That’s $ 100 billion/year.

I can do that in 10 seconds. No Dept of Education, No EPA, NO Department of energy. Done.

Why, these guys in DC are just working SO HARD for us little people, you know? /s

This needs to be DOA in the House. They finally came up with something that no one can support.

That’s Beltway establishment at its best.

Crap sandwich—same diet, different day.

Piss on all of them.

2. For once, they are right (partially)
At the end of the day, this deal will not be as troublesome as some here think it will be.

16. And the people here on DU are talking about the deal in their fevered imaginations, too.
Only instead of it being the end of elections, it's the end of Social Security and Medicare. Equally bullshit.

9. Nonsense...
These people would think Obama won even if he agreed to zero out Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. No cuts would ever be enough for them. They are the fringe of the fringe, and the last I looked their website design was a horror show.

I don't think the deal was that bad, but I certainly don't base that opinion on anything people from that website think. Any forum with a population that has deluded themselves into believing elections are going to be canceled is not to be taken seriously.

14. No matter how much we deal with these fucks some cannot process
there is virtually no such thing as winning for these folks short of unconditional surrender and that might not cut it.

Some demand a fair chunk of us dead or enslaved.

They didn't lose a damned thing.

They didn't lose anything they had, they blocked revenue, they lost nothing they aspire to gain.

The Freepers are not impressed with the size of their win but it is a win by definition, we are reducing spending when we need to be increasing it and austerity will create contraction.

We lost because we are completely playing their game and that means we are on auto-loss. There is no victory for us on their terms.

18. Hell, that's borderline a Republican Party position and has been since before the Tea Party.
They want no federal education standards. Primarily so that red states can teach kids that the Bible is the only book they need, and the Earth is 6,000 years old.

Uh, yeah dog. That's exactly right. And your reps are going to vote for tax increases. Obama snuck revenue in through the backdoor.

28. Well they're wrong. And the reason they're wrong is that they think that it is actually possible...
to keep the country going without more debt, and particularly without more debt and more revenue. Thus to them the fact that the ceiling has increased at all is considered a loss.
