One hope left at this point
A repeat of the first TARP vote. The one where radically conservative 'Pugs and wildly liberal Dems come together and vote down the insanity that the rest of Congress is trying to shove down our throat.

Seriously, the Teabaggers hate this because they don't think it is draconian enough, the liberals hate this because it's far too draconian, add those numbers together and that could well be enough to stop this thing in its tracks.

Which means that we get to go down to the eleventh hour tomorrow night, when time runs short and reality focuses minds, and we get either a clean debt bill passed, or the president is forced to use the 14th amendment.

That's what hope we have left, for there is no hope in this "deal".

2. Interesting. I assumed that they specifically put last night's deal
together in a way that would pass the House. Maybe not.

3. Nope, they put it together for the center
It has some enticements for the Teabaggers, but they want more, more more, specifically a BBA among other things.

But the left is furious and most of them won't vote for it.

4. So it still might not pass? I thought they were tweeking the senate
bill in a way that they knew they had enough votes in the house. You know, killing two birds with one stone.

So then, when does the House vote on it. Doesn't something have to be done by midnight tonight?

5. House votes on it this afternoon/evening.
And if they vote it down, there will be enough time to actually have a bipartisan supported clean bill, or failing that, the president pulls the trigger on the 14th Amendment option. Either of these options would be better than this deal.
