"Then Obama gets pretty much what he wanted."

“Republicans that vote for this joke are going to pay dearly early next year in Primaries or in November.”

"This needs to be DOA in the House. They finally came up with something that no one can support.

That’s Beltway establishment at its best.

Crap sandwich—same diet, different day.

Piss on all of them."

Haven't lurked there in a long, long time but it's quite interesting reading now.

13. They actually come up with something clever about once a year. Then they need to rest for 364 days
or they'll go all "Scanners."

3. Do they still have the same layout they did in 2002?
Not long after I joined here I wanted to see what FR was all about, as people here kept talking about it. But damn, that layout looked like it was designed by a eyeless mutant of some sort.

5. The first time I lurked there was in 2004 and it appears there's been no change since then.

Funny story:

I first heard of Freepers when I was at the Kerry forum in 2004. I knew nothing of the site and thought people were bitching about folks who read the Detroit Free Press which is called "The Freep" for short.

10. Their layout is great on mobile devices and text displays
Actually I'm enough of a geek that I miss the days when all websites looked like that.

4. So basically it means...
that President Obama didn't agree to work houses, debtor's prison and the deed to all female vaginas. Republicans don't consider it a victory unless they get all they wanted and leave more than a few dead bodies, so I'll take their hand wringing with a grain of salt.

6. In some sick way they thought they were watching a reality show...
and wanted a scene with a big screamfest where their baggers got to pretend
like they were something other than what they are.

9. Shit, most freepers want all of us dead or doing hard time in prison
even if it meant that some of their own were to regrettably but necessarily get taken out as well, no honor amongst psych..er...I mean sociopaths.

12. Does Freeper opinion prove something?
It appears to me that even the relatively meaningless corporate jet deduction Obama was so fond of criticizing will live on. If victory was a "balanced approach" we lost decisively.

14. It means about as much as the griping from some here on DU.
That living inside an echo chamber is bad for your mental health.
