POLL: Who will be inaugurated President on January 20, 2013?
Oh, whoops...I'm not a donor, so I can't post a proper poll. Still, simple question:

Who takes the oath of office on January 20, 2013?

Obama
Romney
Rick Perry
Sarah Palin
Other Democrat
Other Republican
Other other

I'm saying Obama, just because.

7. Probably Obama
He'd have to fall a lot further before the Mittster could catch up with him. That could happen I guess, but Obama has the initiative. Romney or any other Republican will not be able to win it - their only path to the White House is for Obama to lose it. I think he and his team will make sure that doesn't happen.

10. I'm praying it will be Obama.
The thought of either Romney or Perry becoming president in 2013 scares the shit out of me.

13. Scares the shit out of me too: hell a Republican might keep Obama's wars raging, cut the taxes of
wealthy (and large corporations), and eviscerate social security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Scary indeed. ;) :patriot:

16. I'm sure that if either of them gets elected...
Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 09:55 AM by KeyserSoze87
They will try to abolish Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and they will then turn this country into a fascist corporate empire. I don't care if Obama caved in on this debt ceiling debate; it's better we have him than Romney or Perry (one of those two will be the nominee, I can guarantee it).

22. Obama- and we need to take back Congress guys- not a joke.
And we all need to commit to making sure both of those things happen. I get it- we're pissed off about giving in for the debt ceiling and we're tired of bending backwards and there have been countless things that did not go our way. It sucks.

But had everyone come out and voted for Democrats in 2010, we would not be were we are today. We empowered the TeaBaggers due to lack of participation (and lack of votes). That's also how FL elected Rick Scott. Lack of turnout from our team.

23. I see it hinging on the economy.
If the economy turns around and looks great, Obama wins.

If the economy turns drastically sour, I see Obama and all republicans getting rejected, and some Other Democrat winning. But the economy has to go REALLY sour for dems to put up someone other than Obama in the primaries.

If the economy stays as is, or goes a little south, I can see the right-wing spin machine turning that into a victory for some Other Republican. (I think Romney has peaked too early, and Perry/Palin have no real chance.) Odds of R victory rise as the economy gets worse, up until it becomes truly drastic.

31. Obama just cut spending in the middle of a depression
there will be no jobs until 2013 at the earliest. Make no mistake, this is Obama's economy now. The repug that gets elected in 2012 will enjoy the rebound for an easy reelection 2016. Any dem that votes for this plan is endangered.

24. Since both parties agreed to that Super Commission, the Left
lost the argument that you need a Democratic President
to put through all these changes that will be dramatic
shift to the Right. Under the old system, for example,
Bill Clinton was there to push back against the Repub
House and Senate. He put the Democratic Approval on
the Legislation.

Theoretically the Super Congress will put the Bipartisan
face so you can have the Republicans in all 3 Branches.
This is their desire.

Makes it easier for a Romney or whomever they select.

To me it is too early to be guessing about an election
so far off. Right now the Pres. has lost ground but
I would say at this moment the race is 50/50 Obama
and Romney. Time is on both sides.

27. I sincerely hope it's a Republican. Because...
At this point the economy is crashing, and nothing that anybody can do will prevent another deep 30's style depression. When it happens, as I believe it inevitably will, I want a Republican to be at the helm so that they get the blame they deserve and their whole party is discredited for another generation or two. Then a new Democrat can step in and lead the recovery.

I'm not wishing pain on the country, I'm saying that pain can't be avoided now. So who would you rather takes the blame for it?

28. Palin
If there is an increase in unemployment (and there will be) and the GOP is allowed to run roughshod over the Democrats as they have with the debt ceiling nonsense, how could it NOT be Palin? She is biding her time to enter for the purposes of IMPACT. Just watch.
