Look, in the sky, it's universal healthcare...
No, it's a public option.
No, it's Romneycare.

Look, it's a repeal of the Bush tax cuts for the rich...
Oh no, it's Republicans outmaneuvering the Democrats to hold unemployment benefits hostage.
No, it's Bush's tax cuts for the rich being extended for another two years, until after the next election.

Look, we need to raise the debt ceiling. Well, this has happened a shitload of times before without trouble...
NO! The Republicans are going to nuke the economy if we don't give them 1 million dollars...No wait, 1 trillion dollars...No, 4 trillion dollars...
No, The Republicans realized that they can't nuke the economy, but we're still going to give into their demands. Oh well, Catfood Commission 2, here we come!

Imagine that old scene in the silent movie:
The robber has put the pretty lady on the tracks...the train is coming...

Only instead of coming along to free the damsel in distress, the "hero" swoops into to compromise on which direction she'll face when the train comes by.

Healthcare was important because you know, people die without it. The tax cuts were important, because we need to raise revenues. But we did them anyway, only to come along and ask for even one dollar less for social programs. How dare they?

They believe less is more. Yeah, less for us, and more for the rich people.

This is a country where only 400 families make more money than 150,000,000 people. That's just fucked up.

The power structure of this country is so undemocratic in the economy, so classist, that we simply cannot have even a shred of fairness in the government.

Until we win in the economy, we will never win in the government.

1. Those 400 families don't make or earn all that money.
They just get it.

4. Until we find a way to publicly finance our campaigns,
we will never win either the economy or the government.
