MSNBC: Staffers say if this bill passes in the House, they will
"gavel out" for five weeks. Luke Russert posits that nobody wants to "stick around to deal with the fallout".

4. We can't, but we can make life very uncomfortable
for them while they are in their home districts.

7. Who "staffers?" Senate? MSNBC? Whose staffers? Or is this a new
title for Senators?

8. Yes, the Circus Performers and the Ringleader (Congress & The President)
are packing their bags to go on their 5-week MUCH DESERVED vacation.

They'll come back in September, rested and ready to tackle campaigning in a serious way.

Then we'll hear all the promises about how important we all are to them, how they're going to cut corporate taxes, lower the rates for the job creators, how they just hated that they had to hold their nose and vote for the deficit deal;

oh, and don't forget the Thanksgiving surprise that will be coming our way - courtesy of the Circus People.

9. There's always an August recess in Congress
This is not news. Each year Congress leaves for the month of August and returns after Labor Day.

Will they leave a few days early? (I would have expected them to have Friday, Aug. 5 as their last day, returning September 6.) They probably feel they can because they've been in session weekends.

11. They may "gavel out"
from DC, but I'm quite sure they all have offices in their districts from which they will have to answer to their constituents.

19. Remember, 56% of the House...
...and 47% of the Senate were elected to not accomplish things.

17. They'd better deal with that FAA mess first.
Having 80-percent-completed work projects stalled and workers laid off so the GOP can strut just doesn't cut it.

18. They like to equate the US budget to a household budget...
I like to equate their work to having a job. No fucking working man in history gets the kind of pay, bennies, vacation, etc. these workers get. We should all be so lucky.

And what really chaps my ass is while these public workers vote themselves raises, the actively work to limit the bargaining power, wages and benefits of actual public workers, who actually have jobs.

Fuck the whole lot of them right square in the ass. I've had it with these self important imbeciles.

23. That's the question, isn't it? Seem to be hearing "it will", "it won't".
As always, we'll have to wait and see how it goes - we won't know until we know.

This crisis has been an especially stress-inducing one, IMO. We seem to be getting hit with these dramas one after another.

Only a couple more days to have sky-high blood pressure. :hi:
