Anyone know how the media is reacting to the teabagger party?

Is there pretty good reason to hope that they will put the crazy uncle back in the attic like they did with the Birchers back in the 1950's, or will the tea party emerge stronger from this?

What do you guys think? Anyone heard anything from the media today on that score?

1. Most haven't really said as much, but I suspect there's considerable

disappointment with the baggers among independents and moderate republicans. The hard-core 20% will always love them, but the news media seems to ignore or forget the fact that 80% don't feel that way.

3. Don't know about media in general, but David Frum wrote

an article demolishing their ideas:

and Kathleen Parker op-ed in the Sunday WaPo was scathing. (Sorry don't have the link.)
