republican pandering: Gingrich latest
For amusement, this taken from Twitter just a short while ago:

newtgingrich Newt Gingrich by politicalinsidr
"Before vote, Boehner and McConnell should pledge only to appoint to the spending committee those who rule out tax increases."

WTF is it with those idiots and their absolute insistance on NOT raising new revenue? New revenue combined with cost cuts is the only way I know to truly eliminate debt. You can tell the entire current debt discussion is a FARCE since the wars and military expenditures were not "on the table" for reduction/elimination. Further, where was all of the alleged "fiscal responsibility" from the republicans when they were "blank checking" Bush's every act (note: where was the Democratic spine to filibuster every step of the way too?). Rant off...

3. "Those people" aren't rational, "no taxes" is a religion to them
They've embraced the "no taxes" ideology as though it was a religion. To them, a raise in taxes/revenue is akin to committing the worst imaginable sin and subjects the offender to rejection, shunning, ostracism, banishment and any other punishment they want to come up with.

And in their strict Christianist-type morality, there's no wiggle room. It's strict adherence to their law; any deviation will not be tolerated.

5. You're correct from my experiences
It's such a conformist, follow the herd (even if I cant form my own thoughts) approach.

Oh yeah, where are all the jobs that are supposed to come from not increasing the taxes - the republicans love to champion those two things together (lower taxes and create jobs) as if by repeating the lie often enough, it will some how come true. Crickets chirping whenever you hear that statement....

4. Is this Newt ''We Need To Be Making Things Here In America via El Salvador'' Gingrich?
Hey, Newt! If Boehner and McConnell don't pledge to appoint such a spending committee, maybe they can blame it on their volunteers!

Ya think??!!!
