Resign from barackobama.com
Let the president know that his action of putting Social Security (which is NOT an entitlement--we paid for it) and Medicare on the table will destroy the Democratic Party (which will be forever known as the party that destroyed Social Security and Medicare) and in return you do not want to be counted on to support him in 2012.

Perhaps if the party sees Obama's support evaporate, they will run a real Democrat in 2012.

3. Meantime, Boehner told his caucus that tax increases on the wealthy are *not* on the table
This is according to Thom Hartman on the radio today. He said this is what Boehner told his people in his PowerPoint presentation. They will not be on the table if come November the Congress doesn't pass what the "Super Congress" decides.

9. Perhaps- but he did not mention that they expire
Even Grover Norquist stated (in his own, absurdly backwards way) that letting the Bush tax cuts expire is not the same as raising taxes. Obama has promised that these will not be renewed and I believe him. Call me a raging optimist but I just don't think this is as horrible a deal as everyone is panicking about.

And WHATEVER the fuck Boehner put into his powerpoint presentation is going to be riddled with bullshit and spin- remember that. He's saving face with his party which lost on many of the key issues they were demanding.

11. Are you sayhing that Boehner lied to his caucus to get them to vote yes?
Tax increases are either on or off the table. Tell me which is true.

13. Don't care what bullshit Bohener spins to his caucus
The Bush tax cuts expire next year and will not be renewed- at least not the ones for millionaires. They will become permanent for middle class-that's my prediction and that's what the President has stated.

14. I just don't see why I should see you as the last word on that
This president has been so weak dealing with this issue. He caved last year which gives me so little hope.

15. Don't know if it's the "last word' but I still believe in and trust Obama.
Call me naive or silly but I still have faith that he is doing the best that he can given the nightmare he's dealing with. And if everyone would just read the bill carefully- and yes- it's not perfect - I get it-- but look carefully at what it does and does not do. And as for Boehner- he's an asshole and he lies as does his party. Constantly.

Reading materials for a bit more info if you are interested. They helped me come to a very different place on how I feel about the deal. I'm not thrilled but until we vote out the teabaggers, it's probably the best we can do.

20. weakness or not
Given the political climate, I believe Obama has done his best. I would like to see another do better---Obama does have to contend with the fact he is black and racism is certainly not dead in the USA.
