See, in order for all the sensible Democrats to sign on to this wonderful deal, the promise of potential defense budget cuts some time in the future has to be made. If the promise is broken before everyone agrees to this Grand Bargain, it could derail the whole deal!

Or the Democrats might decide that avoiding default is worth it, even at the expense of one of the ephemeral promises they extracted. But this is the last one, okay? Don't anyone get any bright ideas of clawing back other promises, or we'll have to concede those, too! I really, really mean it.

now last i was told, training, equipping and maintaining a soldier in the field wasn't cheap

anyone who wants a private army like that start by registering interest, pay in advance and then their kids, male or female go first into frontline, yes, FRONTLINE, so do they if they are of age (18-47 frontline 48-63 second line)
