Greenwald's Email to J. Cole re. claims of President's alleged "weakness" with respect to Tea Party
In his Salon.com blog, Greenwald fairly calls out the assertion by John Cole (among others) of President Obama as being "helpless" in the face of Tea Party obstructionism for the myth that it is. Greenwald makes a fairly convincing case that the President clearly wanted to link deficit reduction to the debt ceiling negotiation. He links to an email he sent to Cole, in which he lays out his case (read GG's email at: http://ggdrafts.blogspot.com/2011/08/email-to-john-cole.html ).

1. So wait, he's not a dupe, he intended to do what the conservatives wanted?
Is that supposed to reassure Democrats?

4. I don't think Greenwald is trying to "reassure" anybody ...
... because he believes (as do many of us) that there is little reason to be reasurred.

3. To be clear, this was just a housekeeping chore to keep the country solvent.
They've passed bills raising the debt ceiling 89 times!!!

So, this "deal" jazz is just horseshit!

5. Hmmmm?
"Greenwald makes a fairly convincing case that the President clearly wanted to link deficit reduction to the debt ceiling negotiation."

How many brain cells did Greenwald use? Here's "fairly convincing case" in a few lines.
