So Cornell suggests putting nets under NY bridges to stop suicide jumps!

outlawing guns, knives, needles, etc.?

2. Speaking as a Cornell grad...
I think this is a good idea. There were a fair number of student suicides (including a friend of mine who developed schizophrenia) as well as people from the surrounding communities who came to commit suicide on our bridges. The fences used to prevent these tragedies make one feel like they're in prison.

Seems like nets are a good solution.

13. I'm confused
Couldn't someone just jump into the net and then jump from the net? Or are we planning to layers and layers of nets so there are no big drops? Or maybe sticky nets like spiderwebs that trap people until help can arrive?
