is huffington post right wing now?
I only ask is because I have rarely ever visited that site. Has it changed this year?

1. I saw a post by Laura Ingram there the other day that nobody cared about, but other than that -
it hasn't changed all that much.

4. Thanks for your response.
I'm just dumbfounded by the lack of responses.

10. She just poaches links from other sources and ads a salacious headline to it. AOL is a perfect

fit for her. Huffington Post, just like AOL, is just an annoying aggregater.

5. Link to Matt Drudge
and other wingy places on their list of sites they endorse.
Whether they were there always or not, I don't know.

I try not to visit it much.
Arriana kinda creeps me out - money is her main concern.

6. I'm not sure they're anything, as far as ideology.
I personally think they are no different than a tabloid magazine. Whatever keeps the hits up...

7. I think it is slowly being repositioned and rebranded.
I used to go there pretty much every day. Now I go there once or twice a month usually through links.

It was already losing its appeal to me before it was sold. Now it is worse. It is trying to offer a broader appeal
to a larger audience to drive the hits up. It is has become mostly about money not much real information.

11. I agree.
Also, the sensational headlines and stories don't match up well. It used to be better.

8. I wouldn't say that it's right-wing
There are lots of lefties who post articles there that are interesting and worth reading.

I would say, however, that the site reminds me of a tabloid so I'm sort of over reading it on a daily basis

9. No....Just crappy and more commercialized
I used to go daily to check it out, but the selection has gotten lamer and the ratio of meaningless junk seems heavier.

Plus, since their purchase by AOL, they have so many scripts and links that it takes forever to load a page.

Slate and Salon are much better.

13. Well, their comments moderators certainly protect the RW
Even the most mildly critical comments I have made in response to a GWB* article or that of any of the leading RETHUG figures, are never posted. I've had about a half dozen I tried to post in the past before I just finally logged out and stopped going to the site.

Arianna is an incredible opportunist, sell-out, and narcissist, IMO. She may share some centrist or even left of center viewpoints, but she's happy to scuttle them in the name of RW traffic the gawd almighty dollar.

14. I spent about a year over there before returning to DU
A year or two ago it was a pretty good site, but last fall/winter the place was completely overrun by paid reichwing trolls that the mods did nothing about. The mods became quite scrupulous in censoring those who, like me, took on said trolls, however. Gave up on them for good a few months ago.
