Rick Santorum: Still frothy!!! Denounces "super-right" of "sexual liberty"
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/08/santorum-blasts-super-right-of-sexual-liberty-and-the-pursuit-of-pleasure.php?ref=fpc

Rick Santorum is continuing his staunch opposition to gay rights -- warning that courts have created a "super-right" to sex, which overrides the constitutional right of religious freedom.

In an interview with the Des Moines Register's editorial board, Santorum claimed that same-sex marriage was a threat to religious liberty, alleging for example that government could threaten the licenses of marriage counselors who don't treat gay couples.

"Religious liberty is now trumped because we have now created a super-right," said Santorum. "We have a right the Constitution of religious liberty but now the courts have created a super-right that's above a right that's actually in the Constitution, and that's of sexual liberty. And I think that's a wrong, that's a destructive element."

Also, the paper reports: "Santorum says if 'pursuit of happiness' means 'pursuit of pleasure,' we won't be a country very long."

EWWW! There's Santorum all over the place!!! It smells!

1. That ol' boy just ain't right!
Too much sex on the brain, I tells ya! With all that's wrong with the world, Li'l Ricky Sanctimonium decides to prattle on about sex? That's like complaining about cheap booze in the Rob Roy you're drinking as the Titanic is sinking. He may have the luxury of obsessing about the sex lives of others, but I suspect that some of the fundies he's courting are more concerned with their own economic situations right about now.

2. What an idiot
It only affects him if he choosing to engage in sex with other men. Since last I checked, most people don't want him anyway and no one is forcing people to have homosexual sex, he's okay.

More than likely, he's afraid that if homosexuals are allowed to become more open, he will be tempted to sleep with other men. Either that or he's a crazy douche bag, and that's probably an insult to douche bags, since they do provide a useful function.

3. Yeah, that's what the struggle for equal marriage rights is all about - sexual liberty.
Because, after all, gays - like straights - would never think of having sex outside of marriage, so naturally they need to get married to fully explore any libertine ways.

How do the GOP come up with these dunces? Never mind, I'm sorry I asked.

14. America DOES prioritize individual rights over the rights of organized religion to control people.
Damn right it does. That's one of the fundamental things, wired deep into the Constitution, that makes it America, and not Vatican City or Jonestown.

Let's all give a round of applause for the separation of church and state, as required by the Constitution.
