2. Oh yeah - that would be the GOP's preferred solution.

4. So you think only those for the rich might be extended?
But not those under the incomes you list?

Can you explain how that happens?

3. Extended.
There's just absolutely no way Obama and the Democrats have the stones to fight that fight in an election year.

Hell, they declined to fight it when they were about as politically strong as you can get.

6. Our president said they would end. It would be insane to extend them. Therefore, they will end.

7. The pukes will force an early vote on them before the election.

It will easily pass the house and grudgingly pass the senate. Obama will be forced to sign it or veto it around October. He'll sign it.

9. Why would they end?
No one has the political will to challenge them.

10. The Bush tax cuts expired on schedule at the end of 2010: Obama's tax cuts won't be allowed to
expire imo. :patriot:

11. I think Obama will let the tax cuts expire on the rich and run his 2012 election on that
issue. I think he'll do well.

13. if they were allowed to expire, it would be a great psychological boost
it would demonstrate the U.S. is not hopelessly beyond reasonable action by the govt.

...which is why I don't know if the tax cuts will expire or not, b/c I no longer think republicans can be reasonable and I haven't seen Obama push back - I've heard rhetoric but not seen action that demonstrates the ability to stand against the abuses of those who have weakened our economy with their ponzi schemes.
