Police rescue baby doll by mistake
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/mad-mad-world/Police-rescue-baby-doll-by-mistake/articleshow/9465739.cms

British police broke into a man's car and rescued a toy after mistaking it for a real baby.

Anastasi Cristofis was astounded to hear the officials had broken into his motor to save Sam the doll - which was left in the vehicle by his five-year-old daughter Chanel Cristofis - causing £200 worth of damage.

The 37-year-old father explained: "I couldn't believe it when the police turned up holding the doll and told me what had happened. The officer told me not to leave it in the car again."

Mr Cristofis had gone to work in at the fish and chip shop he owns in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, when the incident occurred after a passerby reported seeing a baby alone in the car.

Sgt Robert Holmes revealed: "The call was made in good faith. Drivers need to think about what they leave on view in their cars."

I present without comment.

1. They erred on the side of good. I don't hold them responsible at all.

5. I don't fault them for trying, but they can at least pay to have
the window fixed. It's not a lot of money to them, but it probably is to him.

4. I can't find fault with the police decision
Have you seen those dolls? They're eerily realistic.

6. They can't waste time figuring out if the baby is real or not.
If they thought there was a baby in the car, they did the right thing.

7. I think they did the right thing
Would rather laugh about it being a doll than cry about it being a real dead baby.
