A letter about the effort to recall the Michigan governor
Everyone notices what is going on in Wisconsin, which is great. But Michigan's governor is so much worse! There is no media attention and no support from the democratic party. One of the volunteers wrote to Heartland emPowered (formerly Heartland Revolution) and I copied the facebook page text below:

"Hello,

My name is Paula, and I am one of the petitioners recalling Governor Snyder in Michigan. The reason for this email is simple: HELP

All eyes were on Wisconsin with their efforts to stop Governor Walker's policies. But here in Michigan??? Crickets.

In Michigan, we have a governor that is implementing the most drastic cuts and extreme elimination of local democratically elected governments this country has ever seen, let alone Michigan. Several citizens have joined together to fight back in the only way available: recall.

This is a total grassroots effort to stop this breathtaking overreach of government, and I am proud to be a part of this effort. I, along with several hundred people, are trying to reach as many people as possible to get signatures on our petitions to get the recall issue on the November ballot. Unfortunately, our recall efforts did not go as well as we had hoped.

I will not give up. Nor will about a dozen of us in our county. We are trying to get as organized and potent as possible. This is the reason for my email to you. I followed the events in Wisconsin, and I continually saw your organization as one of the most positive and dynamic forces in their epic fight.

I will end this email here. I am just a retired teacher doing what I can, fighting the good fight."

This is the response from Heartland:

We are NOTICING! Today, you can make the difference and help us hit our goal of collecting the final $5,000 to ensure we can continue to help the recall efforts in Michigan. Please help us send a message to these Political Cronies that what they are doing is not going unnoticed, and that there are people, like you, ready to stand up to their oppression to hard working families.

Thank you for your help,

Janie Waltz

1. I have been paying attention.
I live closer to Wisconsin, and have family there, so it gets most of my attention.

But I think our hopes lie with the changes we are trying to make at the state level, in several states. The federal government is too far gone. They don't represent us any more.

I have been looking with hope at: Wisconsin, Michigan, Maine, Minnesota, Indiana, Missouri, and Ohio. The people in those states seem interested in righting the wrongs that have been done to them. They are fighting back.

2. Don't forget to add FL.. and if I'm not mistaken, all of these states are
Swing states.. Is it folly to think the Dems want a shut out again in 2012... now that people realize how bad pukes are?
