That would require looking at words and thinking.

They're coded and meant to elicit a reaction in like-minded people. To a teabagger, "government" doesn't mean the FDA, it means welfare and unemployment benefits. When they talk about "ot-of-control spending," what they mean is, "there's programs out there that keep blacks and poor people from starving to death - we want those programs to die....but please make sure my meat is safe to eat and keep delivering mail to my house and please keep installing traffic lights funding the fire department and the other stuff the government does that *I* benefit from." "Big government" is a code word-phrase for "I hate poor people and blacks."
