Farrell Files: Maybe ol' Ross Perot was right
Long before the self-professed Good Looking Bald Guy spent $60 million of his own money to become the Sunshine State's 45 Governor - a big-eared, tough talkin' Texan from Texarkana, with a voice that could cut glass, threw his ten gallon hat and millions into the 1992 U.S. Presidential race.

Although H. Ross Perot was often derided as the political equivalent of your crazy Uncle Ernie - nearly 20 years later Perot's economic predictions of the early 90's appear to be entirely sane.

Back in '92 Perot, and his ever-present pointer, appeared in a number of televised "lessons" on the economy. These political infomercials were most notable for Perot's catchphrase - "A Giant Sucking Sound."

Perot was referring to his opposition to the then pending North American Free Trade Agreement with Mexico. He predicted NAFTA would lead to a mass exodus of good American jobs to Mexico and other foreign countries.

2. 1992 was the only year I didn't vote for a democratic candidate.
While Perot clearly slid down the nutty chute as time went on, at that time his message was the most pro-American worker at the time, so that's who I voted for.

3. Of course he was right about NAFTA
AND he was "Crazy Uncle Ernie"-the two aren't mutually exlusive. His administration would have been "entertaining", but I don't know if that's what we need-ever.

4. This might have made more sense
If the article actually discussed NAFTA.

7. Ross Perot's appeal to Independent
conservative leaning voters was the reason that Clinton vice Bush I won.

..and Obama & Hillary also KNOW that "Free Trade" has been a bad thing for the 98% of Americans who Work for a Living.
They admitted as much during the campaign,
so the Democratic Party Leadership KNOWS.

I can't believe that ANYONE would STILL be trying to SELL MORE "Free Trade".

I'm beyond Disgust,
and moving toward Contempt.
