The city of Philadelphia is still struggling with flash mobs--those sudden gatherings of young people that, in some cases, turn violent.

Stores have been trashed, unsuspecting passers-by have been punched and beaten, and city officials say they're not going to take it anymore.

After spending decades nurturing Center City's Renaissance of fancy restaurants, trendy shops, and luxury condos, Center City District President Paul Levy isn't going to lie down and let violent flash mobs lay waste to his legacy:

"This behavior simply will not be tolerated," Levy said.

The city plans to announce its "integrated, coordinated response" to recent flash mob incidents in Center City next week. Mayor Michael Nutter said the plan will involve the police department, district attorney's office, Department of Human Services, business owners and community representatives.

After the most-recent teen mob incident, city officials said they would strictly enforce curfew for teens, and announce other measures.

Nutter will announce those measures at a press conference, where he will appear with other city officials.

But don't they know THIS HAPPENS EVERY SUMMER?! They need to get some PERSPECTIVE! And shut the DOORS!
