White house on stock slide: Markets go up, markets go down
Carney says they can't comment on what happens on "any given day". Very soothing.

1. Once the rockets go up, who cares where they come down?
Oops, wrong topic -- that was about delivery systems for nuclear weapons. ;-)

(Just Tomfoolery I guess.)

2. If he said anything it would be wrong.

"Remain calm. All is well." -obvious bullshit, or...

"Set your hair on fire and run screaming down the street."

The reaction to either would not be good.

Lack of context - intentionally misleading snarkiness.

5. Hurricanes come, hurricanes go. The rich get richer the poor get poorer.
People die in wars.

Who could have foreseen....?

The sun rises in the east and goes down in the west.

6. Any given day my ass, it's been happening since before they announced their "deal"
Markets do go up and they do go down, but not like this unless there is something seriously amiss.

Carney is a tool and Obama isn't well served by him.

12. What are they going to say?
"Yeah, we made a catastrophically stupid deal, ignoring sound economic theory in favor of trying to appease a bunch of demogogues who will never be satisfied. We've learned our lesson, and when Congress gets back next month, we'll do our damnedest to put together a fiscal bill that will raise taxes on the wealthiest citizens because it's about time they helped pull the wagon instead of just riding along in comfort while the rest of the nation strains under their yoke."

Because that would just be crazy talk!

13. Is the DOW going to 6000 again - like in 2009? I don't think so
Companies are reporting record profits - we are not losing 750,000 a month - and GDP is not tanking at 8.9% like it did the last quarter under Bush.
