The verdict on Piers MORGAN is IN.
Edited on Tue Aug-09-11 10:20 PM by UTUSN
When he was given Larry KING's spot, I didn't know who he was. I have curiosity (a fair amount) and open mindedness (hardly any) and whatever mixture of this led me to peek in at his first shows and I was underwhelmed and sort of puzzled. He had been marketed as a profoundly hardhitting interviewer of the biggest, most hard-to-get Gets, but there seemed to be just his Brit cronies being featured.

So then it trickled down to my level that he is? was? still is? a judge on a talent show I have never seen, along with Mrs Sharon whassername, the wife of somebody, more Brits, and I wondered, what's with all the Brits worship?!1 I thought Americans had gotten over the inferiority complex vis a vis the Brits, although that dialect and grounding in the basics of historical civilization *does* tend to intimidate us illiterates.

But the tipping point against this Piers person for me was the evening after the MURDOCHs' testimony. He was clearly bristling about having been mentioned by a committee member. This put in relief for me that there was more to him than a talent show, that he was a player in the MURDOCH wingnuttiness. So that evening, he SPAT out the introduction of his guest, an in-your-face spitting at MURDOCH's questioner (how DARE they?!1): A Saudi PRINCE, the 26th RICHEST MAN in the world, and --------------*AND*-------------- "A FRIEND OF RUPERT MURDOCH'S"!1

And that fellow was who MORGAN featured to discuss the TeaBagger debt ceiling circus.

But tonight sealed the verdict: He paired Dan RATHER and Douglas BRINKLEY, and when Dan cited poll results of 68% dissatisfied with Rethugs and 49% dissatisfied with their own congresscritters "which has never happened before", so MORGAN said, "And yet, we have not heard a grand plan that we have seen from other presidents in times of crisis (paraphrase)."

O.K., that out-of-the-can TeaBagger yak point pretty much put the verdict in the envelop, but his next guest, bringing the saliva to SEAL the envelop, was ---- *ta DAAAA* --------- T. Boone PICKENS!1 Somebody I thoroughly, totally detest as being the incarnation of the opposite of whatever I am in every facet of my being -- cultural, economic, political, spritual, or whatever facet. There is nothing I care to hear from this dude: Even his little pieces of agreement with my views are offset, like his interest in alternative energy is another venue for enriching him more. And tonight, he said he is for pulling out completely from Afghanistan and the 50,000 U.S. military in Europe, that he doesn't see what we will ever accomplish or get out of being in Afghanistan. I detest him even when he agrees with me.

So the verdict is: Piers MORGAN is a guilty toad Toady of the oligarchs of the bain of our existence. Here's the 26th richest MAN in the world, and FRIEND OF RUPERT MURDOCH's:

Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal

Saudi Prince worlds 26th richest man says he wants to keep America and the west addicted to his oil

Posted On Monday, May 30, 2011

(CNN) — Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal said Sunday that he wants oil prices to drop so that the United States and Europe don’t accelerate efforts to wean themselves off his country’s supply. ....

“We don’t want the West to go and find alternatives, because, clearly, the higher the price of oil goes, the more they have incentives to go and find alternatives,” said Talal, who is listed by Forbes as the 26th richest man in the world. ....

1. If we rid ourselves of oil, the Saudi's can drink it.

Piers Morgan is corrupt. He needs to explain his involvement with any phone-hacking that occurred on his watch.

3. Poor Piers
One of VFs best investigative articles that I've read over the last couple years. Well worth a read. Piers was NOT happy!

5. Great VF work. And I swear I had never read it before (there are echoes).

When he was way out of his league hosting Kathy GRIFFIN, he said he is Irish.

On Edit: O.K., the VF link says he was born in East Sussex. I guess he was being levitacious with Kathy, which went right over my head. But the VF article makes really plain what a liar and scoundrel he is.
