MSM coverage of London riots--Rioters are young criminals...

The MSM is attempting to position the London rioters as nothing more than very
young, out-of-control animals who are committing crime for NO REASON.

There is no mention in the MSM of these people being unsatisfied with social or
political policies. The MSM is making it appear as if there is absolutely no cause
or reason for the riots. It's just kids tearing up the place.

I heard a short segment on the radio--and adult Londoners were decrying the criminal
acts of these hooligans and saying that everyone was upset with these young, rogue
criminals who were committing these violent and mindless acts. One woman was quoted
as saying, "I'm so angry and so is everyone else. These young people are out of control
and where are there parents?"

Sure enough, I see the same woman, saying the same quote--on CNN. It's a concerted effort
to diminish any cause and paint the rioters as young gang members with no cause or reason--just
little hooligans out to wreck stuff.

You have to read DU and other sites to understand that there is meaning behind it. I'm not
condoning violence or hurting people--but the truth is that there is CAUSE behind what is happening.

And that's the point--it's not being reported.

No agenda. No plan. Nothing but mindless violence.

However - how do you explain this outbreak across so many communities in 4 short days?

No reason whatsoever other than a gazillion people all just came up with the idea on their own accord at the same time?

Yeah, its fucked up. They are destroying their OWN communities. Their OWN homes and those of their neighbors.

That is blind rage.

That said, there was a fuse waiting to be lit yet no one seems to want to find the root cause (and no, the death of a rapper/thug was just the impetus).

The rioters will be squashed, the meme will be that they were thugs, murderer, petty thieves and criminals.

Social networking + opportunism + mob mentality = "gazillion people all just came up with the idea on their own accord at the same time?"

Think of it as a flash mob of the lowest common denominator.

The MSM law-and-order media and their political masters are doing their best to demonize anyone who suggests any political or social meaning in the violent nihilistic outburst from the marginalized underclass of no-hope youth mostly in poor districts.

you really think the MSM is going to do anything substantive to upset that apple cart? You're expecting the MSM, shills for the consumerist-materialist culture, to do anything but shill and, in that, you are bound to be disappointed.

If you want to fight back, the best way is not to watch or to read the MSM and to start converting your friends and colleagues to a similar position. If enough people stop viewing\reading the MSM, ad dollars will dry up for the corporate whores and they will wither away like the pathetic parasitical creatures they were, are and always will be.

My guess they are at home in front of the TV asking "where are their parents?"

they'd rather just judge these idiots harshly... You cannot add pressure to the poor and not expect something like this... what the wealthy and law enforcement along with their own corporate media have done to the poor has led to this.

I really can't blame her for feeling that way about it. Whatever problems lie at the base of the frustration of some of the rioters (other than the ones who are just plain hooligans) are not her fault in any way, and messing up her life surely won't make things any better for anyone.

The cause has been lost to the senseless violence, and that is the fault of the rioters not the media. The media run whatever draws the biggest, most affluent audience. People love watching action, and fire happens to look great on TV.
