In reality, 2 or 3 seats in WI changes little for us.
Now 0 or 1 seats would change a lot (more of the same ultra conservative nonsense). So we have to hold on to Holperin. Wirch is a lock I think.

3 seats would get us majority in the Senate, but nothing of substance would pass with the republican controlled assembly and Walker's veto pen. On the other hand, with a 16-17 senate including a very moderate republican, nothing of super conservative substance is going to pass either.

We were going to have to get rid of Walker and a lot of assembly seats before we could do anything significant anyway.

1. Hopefully we've neutered Walker, if he wasn't already! LOL!
He'll be plucking his hair out to beat the band after last night!! 2 RED comrades GONE! Ripping at that strangely off-center bald spot.

2. Hehe yep. He better tell Alberta Darling to not be so cocky - she may be
safe after winning her recall, but I think Walker knows that he's in trouble with his.

6. I went to bed thinking she lost
I hope this at least put a scare into the R's there. The races seemed pretty close.

3. Remember Dale Schulz....
H's not been happy over some of Walker's shenanigans. He's a moderate, and if he were to break ranks with the GOP...

5. It shows that fighting back can work
I think the great success in WI was in showing the workers of the country that sticking together and organizing can work.

I'm so proud of you all up there and I hope that union spirit is contagious to the rest of the country :)

Thank you, all of you, and I hope you can get all the seats you need and get that awful man out of your capitol.

I'll be sending what cash I can to help :)

7. No, we didn't gain the victory needed, but we have momentum.
Democrats defeated 2 of 6 Republican incumbents and that is huge. This is a continuation of the start which began with successfully collecting the recall signatures needed for these historic recall elections.

Republicans are spouting off about how Democrats are spinning winning 2 or the 3 seats needed, but they have to be worried. They have to see which way the wind is blowing in this state.

12. Absolutely. No one should feel defeated.
The reason there aren't many recalls historically is because it's seen as a waste of time and money. This sure wasn't that by a long shot. I'm sure Darling almost sh*t at how close her race was there in the "belly of the beast" Waukesha Co. My family settled in Oconomowoc about 40 years ago, (I stayed in the Fox Valley). They all still live in and around Oconomowoc and it is, and has been RED with a capital R. This is exciting news, even if we didn't take the seat! Make no mistake. :kick:

19. An accusation without proof or reality. For an analysis of common sense:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1707525

If you deduct ALL the votes from Waukesha County Darling would still be ahead.

Here's why...

Total of Wisconsin precincts reporting:
81 of 82 Precincts Reporting - 99%
Darling , Alberta (i) 39,471 (54%)
Pasch , Sandra 34,096 (46%)
--------

Waukesha County
Darling: 9,449
Pasch: 4,767

Totals with Waukesha County deducted
Darling: 39,471 - 9,449 = 30,922
Pasch: 34,096 - 4,767 = 29,329

Since there are more republicans in Waukesha County than democrats - there is no way Pasch could have gotten more votes than Darling in Waukesha County (that would have been the only way Pasch could have won), and as we can see with all the votes from Waukesha County deducted Darling would still have been ahead of Pasch.

21. its not just that.
its darling's coordination with pacs (illegal), its AFPs illegal mailers, its the lack of polls in milwaukee (there were voters until 9pm). Its the conservative tea party groups standing outside black polling areas with signs (illegally) claiming you need an ID to vote.

standard operating procedure in SE WI

11. Recalling two Republican Senators at once is an historic moment in US history, a first
TTBOMK--never before have two legislators been recalled at once like this.

Control of the chamber did not change, but this is a tectonic event nonetheless.

16. The energy of the Wisconsin protests has been wasted.

I think more could have been accomplished by staying on the street, at the least it would build the people's confidence in themselves, solidarity.

Democrats who stand up and fight for principle clearly get the people fired up.
