Ratigan to be a guest on his own show to talk about the rant yesterday
Guest host said he was "off to work on his new book" but would "stop by to talk about his amazing rant" and how it is flooding the blogosphere.

Wonder if this is walk it back or double down time?

Taking Wednesday off to "work on a book"?

1. It was one hell of a rant
and he came so close to saying "vampire squid sucking the country dry" it was almost funny.

When people as establishment as Ratigan and Tweety are sensing something in the air and talking like they just bought themselves a clue, something is happening. But it's probably far too late.

Edit - he is ranting about corruption, and how while the Republicans want to burn the whole country to the ground, the Dems want to kick the can to 2017 to protect the next election - and NO ONE is doing something about the system has been gamed for the last 2 decades.

Although he doesn't mention it, NAFTA and dismantling Glass-Steagall set us up for this failure of 2008 - which is another rant he goes on every so often.

He basically said the country is f'd cause all our congress members are bought and paid for because of citizens united and that the wealthy elite and corps are extracting money and wealth and labor from the country.

Made him popular with all but the top 1% for a day.

Just sling shit and see what sticks.

Anyone who listens to Ratigan knows his entire schtick is about these free trade agreements and how they suck money out of the country. He is not a progressive, but he is about as anti-DLC as they come and constantly exposes the corruption in the business/government relationship.

Noting, that "more free trade agreements" is one of our President's platforms as of last week (along with jobs and 'patent reform')

Thats why I love transcripts. They all so often show that what was said and what was heard are too often two very different things.

Oh and BTW - Ratigan's new book (that I didn't know he was writing) is about taking the greed out of the system and how the DLC (Third Way) and Republicans screwed the economy with deregulation of financial systems and free trade agreements, so feel free to walk that meme back at your convenience.

43. He Was Just On... No Blow Back... Lots Of POSITIVE Response & He
just talked about "educating yourself & others" about how our government uses our trade deals. The rant yesterday was GREAT even if some here DON'T GET IT.

He also said you can track him at madashell@dylanratigan.com and get involved. Also said that it didn't matter if you were a Democrat, Repuke, Independent, or what you wanted to call yourself, it was just IMPORTANT to get informed and try to inform others too. That what our government is doing with China, Korea and other countries is just WRONG headed trade policies. Not those exact words.

I hope someone has a link, I don't know how to do that kind of stuff, but he's been working on a book called "Greedy Bastards" that he's been working on for a while. This is the reason he's been taking time off lately. And apparently he got GOOD feed back on his rant. I actually went to the MSNBC website and read some of the facebook & tweet responses. I didn't read anything negative there. But I DIDN'T read them all, so don't jump at me if I MISSED one!

So, things are GOOD for him at MSNBC. I think I can retrieve the link from yesterday though because I emailed it to others.

taxes, trade and banks (and the corruption of free trade agreements) complete with graphs. Likely for the people who haven't heard him on this topic before and didn't understand what he was saying yesterday. (And apparently some here who still don't get that anti-free-trade is the antithesis of DLC).

I agree with you given their track record, and remain suspicions, but that looked like a Double Down to me.

52. To the credit of his publisher
He will never have as much attention as he does today to draw attention to the book. They needed to call attention to that and capitalize on it. I think it was brilliant. I didn't know he was writing anything, and if this book, "Greedy Bastards" lives up to its title, I will be one of the first in line to pre-order it.

Greed sucks and IMO, is our #1 problem in society (and the main argument against Randianism)
