Why couldn't it have been 2 Dems, 2 Reps and 2 independents?
Yeah, it would put Lieberman on the commitee, but he would replace one of the TPers. And it would have given us Anders.
Instead we get 3 right wing Reps, one moderate Rep (DINO) and 2 moderate Dems.
This will not end well.

4. lieberman and sanders are aligned withthe Dems
they vote for Dems for the Senate leaders.
