...the repondent's own member, and whether they deserved election, routinely rides over 50%.

The institution, much lower recently -- last over 50% is 2003 sometime.

Was as high as the 80's post 9/11

Historical data here, going back to the 70s.

Congressional approval ratings are historically low. I do believe they have hit an all time low.

not their own.
