2. Romney and his response
The first questioner asked Romney if he would raise the cap on payroll taxes, so that the rich pay more into the system. Romney — who has a net worth of more than $200 million — said that raising the payroll tax cap for Social Security was tantamount to “attacking people because of their success”:

You know, there was a time in this country when we didn’t celebrate attacking people based on their success and when we didn’t go after people because they were successful.

A second questioner asked Romney “what are you going to do to strengthen Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare without cutting benefits.” Romney’s response, after briefly sho

3. We need to start asking why those who make over $108K deserve a 6% tax cut the rest of don't receive
We need to frame it as a matter of fairness. We need to counter this nonsense of attacking the successful that Romney and the Rethugs spew.

12. Not only that
but why the rest of us should just have to accept benefit cuts to entitlement programs THAT WE PAY INTO just so that the taxes on the poor, oppressed rich (er...."job creators") will not be raised (or cut even more)?

:wtf:

5. Raising taxes is "punishing success?"

Yeah, sure Romney. How do you define "success"?

Is someone born into a wealthy family "successful?"
Are bankers and Wall Street brokers "successful?"
Corporations that don't pay taxes; are they "successful?"
Who's making money off the wars? Are they "successful?"

Fuck you, Romney and you're whiny assertion that wealth equals "success."

Time to bring back the :finger: similie...

6. And Rommey is the least crazed among them....
we need posts like this to remind us how bad the opposition really is, even the ones that don't always foam at the mouth are really bad. He again spews the lie that the poor don't pay taxes. This is complete and utter bullshit. Then he later says that he is not going to raise the taxes that poor people don't pay... I mean that is just weird, I am not going to raise payroll taxes, well guess what payroll taxes are income taxes moran.

ROMNEY: There’s various ways of . One is we could raise taxes on people. That’s not the way . . .

AUDIENCE: Corporations! Corporations!

ROMNEY: Corporations are people, my friend.

AUDIENCE: No they’re not.

ROMNEY: Of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to people. Where do you think it goes?

AUDIENCE: It goes into your pocket!

ROMNEY: Whose pockets? Whose pockets? People’s pockets. Human beings, my friend.

Romney said:
