Romney to angry fairgoers: ‘Corporations are people, my friend’
Source: RawReplay
By David Edwards

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney faced unfriendly fairgoers at the Iowa State Fair Thursday, telling them that he wouldn’t raise taxes on corporations to save Social Security because “corporations are people.”

“What are you going to do to strengthen Social Security and Medicare without cutting federal spending?” one fairgoer asked.

“I’m not going to raise taxes,” Romney insisted. “That’s my answer.”

“Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid account for about half of federal spending,” the candidate later said.

“That’s a lie!” a person in the audience shouted.

“We have to make sure the promises we make in Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare are promises we can keep. And there are various ways of doing that. One is we can raise taxes on people,” Romney explained.

“Corporations!” someone yelled.

“Corporations are people, my friend,” Romney replied. “Of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to people.”

6. Not stupid. They just don't understand hard work and working people and the
struggle to feed and support a family. Never have and never will. That's the difference. Chances are that he has never walked down the street and seen a homeless man or woman, reached in his pocket and gave them 5 or 6 bucks. Him and his ilk are immune to the poor, homeless and working man/women in this country, or the world. All they know is to make the wealthy wealthier and some how that will fix everything. Nothing will ever change their attitudes until they walk in the shoes of the needy and poor with no hope of changing their lives for the better.

4. "Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to people" ought to be
amended to "Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to the wealthiest people at the top." Romney is such a pompous ass that he is incapable of even pretending to care about the masses.

7. So why didn't he call for Ken Lay to be tried for murder?
Or, for that matter, the banksters in 2008?

9. Haha, love it.
And here I thought Romney would be the biggest threat to Obama. If he's the best the repub's got, hopefully the Dems can retake the White House easily (and hopefully Congress with it).
