5. I agree that's much more likely, which is why I left that option out of the poll.

30. Welcome to DU. What's with the attitude?
If I'd included that option in the poll, why bother including any others?

You've got a star, go start your own poll.

15. Yes, he was 5' 4", and I was going to say "we've already had
extremely short". Well, I guess some folks might not think Madison was 'extremely' short, but he was considered short, even for the time.

19. No female on the list? When a certain woman named WARREN is already pulling together
a team looking at not just Brown's seat, but 2016??

http://www.thenation.com/blog/162738/shall-we-make-us-senator-elizabeth-warren-d-massachusetts

The wise activists with the Progressive Change Campaign Committee started an online campaign to “Draft Elizabeth Warren for the U.S. Senate.”

And Warren indicated that she would consider making a run. There were plenty of doubters back in July.

But, now, it appears that Warren is making her move. And it’s the right one.

She’s making calls to top Democrats in Massachusetts and, on Thursday, she posted a note on the Blue Mass Group site that sounded like she has gotten serious about challenging Brown. After reading the note, BMG co-founder David Kravitz wrote: “Well, I guess she is interested!”

Warren’s offering progressives an exciting prospect for 2012 and beyond—and, yes, that is a reference to the 2016 presidential race.

Rubio will probably be on the short list in the upcoming Republican veepstakes. I'd say he has a decent shot at getting picked.

34. Maybe. I can't name any prominent Latino Dems with a shot though
Maybe they are there, but I don't know. Rubio's probably the 'hottest' Latino politician right now. Not saying he could win right now (or even that he could win as number two on a 2012 ticket). But if he continues to increase his profile, he may have a shot at the nomination at some point in the future. We'll see I guess.

27. would they be considered working class if they served in Congress, or Governor, or Mayor
of major city ?

by that i mean someone who was working class and elected to those offices. and from there decided to run for President .

it's not that easy for people who haven't held elected office to become president unless they were something like a General in the Military or some other government position. like Colin Powell lwould have had a good chance of becoming President without holding elected office . but would have still held office.

it's not just the working class but even some wealthy CEO who never held elected or other public office usually wouldn't be able to become President.

31. The only presidents to not hold any other public office were all generals
Taylor, Grant, and Eisenhower, and all were generals during wars. Even Washington was in the Virginia House of Burgesses before the revolution.
