Freeperland's 'Technical Issues' are quite explicable:

They had to take the site down, periodically, to securely scrub the vile malice being posted there at a rate of of knots. Redundancy can be a mixed blessing. The Posters hoping Gabrielle Gifford's injuries were fatal, speak only for themselves of course, but this nonsense about upgrading to Oracle is just that. And yet another attempt to extort money from Jim's dwindling clientele.

Thanks for sharing. That's the home computer of 2004? They didn't miss it by much. ;) They probably were predicting that would be the Home Computer for free republic members.
