My impression on Rick Perry
I do not have a TV so I have not had the chance to hear from Gov Perry, but today I managed to listen to his speech. I would have to say he definitely is not a good speaker as he paused many times and read from his notes. I thought that he was plain dumb and disappointing when it came to talking politics. I understand that he was talking to a conservative crowd, but he really showed me nothing as to how he will convince the independents to vote for him.

In my opinion Rick Perry runs strong on the economy and jobs. Talks too freaking much about Texas and his non verbal language was just ridiculous.

I just do not know if he will be the GOP nominee. Mitt Romney is a lot more articulate than this guy.

Anyway, my point is I do not think he will be their guy.

1. Strong on jobs?

40% of the jobs he created are minimum wage jobs, and the rethugs want to cut minimum wage. The whole point of the right seems to be to turn us into a nation with the majority of our citizens living in poverty.

2. Corporate News Network (CNN) was postively gushing about him
based on coverage I saw while standing my bank's lobby. Of course, I said out loud to all standing in line, 'What a douche!" A couple people actually chuckled.

4. I worry about him much more than I do about Mitt
The fundies are in their glories today. They know that Bachmann is too crazy to get the support of country clubber Republicons in either the primaries, or even the general election.

Jobs? I guess you could compare Rick Perry's sub-minimum wage McJobs to Mitt Romney's naked job cutting, and have Perry look like the winner between the two. As for the country bumpkin way of speaking, it didn't hurt either Bush or even Bill Clinton.

I was hoping that he'd stay put for at least four more years, but that apparently is not going to happen. Unless some scandal comes out quickly, I see Perry rising to the top of the Rethuglican heap, and soon.

5. Like that has been a big factor in their strategery
"Mitt Romney is a lot more articulate than this guy." How often does this factor into the Republican nominating process?
