Anybody else watch the '60 minutes' propaganda show?
Poor poor Cisco has $40 Billion in overseas accounts and they don;t want to pay USA taxes.

Poor poor Cisco only want to pay 5% so they can 'create jobs' in America.

And of course the Corporate Whore Lesley Shahl, corporate whoring the 'the corporate taxes are so high'.

These pricks want the reduced taxes so that they can pay their CEO;s and stockholders millions.

It is the Helmsley mantra - 'only little people pay taxes'.

And, I have stock in CISCO....

All they want is their Billion$ and to Hell With The People..

America is crumbling...they just want to pocket their untaxed billions... Fucking Freaks...

1. The US is just another geographical location to them, they could care less about
the country and/or the citizens. The US could go down in flames and they would still have their assets.

4. Exactly. And get this - this is our country and they couldn't give a damm
If everyone is taxed properly, everyone, including our country would do great...

But they could care less....

Time for us to say.....STOP.

2. And this applies to all our 'American corporations'...
They don't want to pay taxes and build the very goddamm country that provided the
means for them to thrive.

Yes, it is America, with all the infrastructure and customers, that allowed these
entrepreneurs to build their business and make their Billions...

And they don;t want to give back.

Bastards...

3. I watched that too, and all I could think is "this is blackmail".
Mega corporations are blackmailing us, holding us hostage, and he came right out and told us that he doesn't care.

"We CAN'T bring that money back to the US". Can't. Don't you just love it.

Since you have stock, you are welcome to go to the annual shareholder meetings. I might just do that to question what you saw today. I doubt you are the only one infuriated over this.

11. Yes, it was once the Best show... A 'really big sho(w)e..
I usually don't watch 60 minutes because like CBS ABC and NBC they are all
corporate Whores propagandizing American.

Civil, real, intelligent Americans believe in the alphabet News not knowing it is pure propaganda.

We use to have real news - Walter Cronkite, et al...

Now - corporate Whores.

(No offense to sex workers)

13. There really isn't alot to post about on this topic...
We have experienced this for the last 30 years, especially the last 11-12 years.

The mere fact that America, you and I, don;t matter anymore means... we don;t matter any more to them.

The world is their world and their home and their 'market'.

And we no longer matter... Because we allow them to think we no long matter...

Therefore our evening news and 'news shows' only support the corporate message which

19. it was pretty sad that the only line that Lesley seemed to utter against the tax dodging cheats
was at the very end when she said it sure sounds like they're begging for a handout.

They need to force any corporation to pay the difference in tax rate if they move their company outside the US.

They use our country like toilet paper. They use our infrastructure, our schools, our labor, our laws, our courts, our cops, our military back-up if they get jammed up... and they are not interested in coughing up their share.

Never mind that 35% bullshit... they all have lawyers to protect them from the IRS.

Traitors.

If they want to be on their own, I suggest we let them do just that... no protection.

That piece was the worst piece of Shock Capitalism propaganda I've seen.

24. What I would wonder
Edited on Sun Aug-14-11 10:24 PM by fujiyama
is if offered, would they take a corporate tax cut in exchange for income and capital gains tax hikes?

My guess is they wouldn't because ultimately it's all about their own personal greed. It's so obvious. In so many cases these CEOs don't give a shit about their companies, let alone the workers. That's why over the last several years we've seen so many CEOs take ridiculous compensation packages and get a golden parachute even if their company is going bankrupt.

Where is this mythical, master of the universe bullshit work ethic we've been fed? These CEOs are a bunch of fucking pirates!

26. just out of curiosity, why do we tax only foreign earnings that are "repatriated"
why can't we tax foreign income of american corporations even if it isn't repatriated?
is there some treaty that this would violate (though certainly the previous oval office occupier had no qualms about violating treaties).

i know, it'll never happen; corporations have far too much power, but one can dream....

would spend untold amounts tracking it down!

How is this not illegal? If they're openly talking about it, how come we can't go get it? Seems that if I were to go on TV talking about how I hid $1,000,000 in my off shore account to avoid taxes, the IRS would come down on me with both feet
