Gang, I sent the following to the Palm Beach Post.

    Mr. Russell's letter of yesterday scares the hell out of me.    To me, it represents everything that is wrong with the Tea Party, the Far Right and Fox News. If you do not agree with them, you are the "enemy", the "Axis of Evil" or some other perjorative.   What do you do to your "enemies"? You crush them! Anything you do to them is permissable because they are the "enemy". What is the "Final Solution" for Mr. Russell?   Mr. Russell needs a history lesson on our Founding Fathers. They compromised on slavery among other things. They recognized God but were careful to keep God out of politics. Women had no say and very few rights. All of the power was in the hands of Male, White landowners.    The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are amazing ground-breaking documents. But to read 18th century documents in a 21st century context is to demean those brilliant Founding Fathers.
