Iowa fairgoer to Todd Palin: Your wife ‘sold out’
Source: San Francisco Chronicle - RawReplay
By David Edwards

The San Francisco Chronicle captured video of an Iowa fairgoer last week confronting Todd Palin.

“We’re from Alaska,” the woman told him. “We were sick when she quit.”

“What would you recommend doing when you got $600,000, $700,000 of debt hanging over your head, and you still have all these people filing complaints against you?” Todd Palin asked. “What would you do?”

“Well, you go for the money obviously. That’s what she did. Everybody in Alaska thinks she sold out,” the woman replied.

“Hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. You got all this debt going to be there,” Todd Palin insisted.

“It’s not there anymore is it? You got quite the deal,” the woman charged, adding that Todd Palin was also a “sellout” as he walked away.

5. Could it be from their home on Lake Lucille in Alaska?

Maybe it's from the three homes and a plane they own?

From 2008--

On the campaign trail, Sarah Palin has complained of struggling to pay the bills and this week described herself as "an everyday, working-class American" who knows how it feels when the stock market takes a hit.

But the Palin family income reached comfortably into six figures in her 2007 declaration, capitalising on valuable salmon fishing rights and a series of property deals. Her governor's salary brought in $125,000 (£71,000), while her husband Todd earned almost $100,000 from his part-time job at BP, combined with income from commercial fishing. The couple appeared to be worth at least $1.2m, including a $500,000 lakefront home, a Piper float-plane and two holiday getaways.

That probably does not seem like struggling to the average American family living on less than $50,000 a year and trying to pay off credit card debts of $9,840 (Mrs Palin has none).

on edit: Oh, I forgot! That home, Todd and his buddies built on weekends...

3. Oh that's right. I'd forgotten about all that business.
She's still a quitter, though.

8. The largest complaint she filed against herself, and she could have used a state attorney. She chose
outside council that the state would not pay for.

They were her bills that she chose to run up, not the states fault she wanted a different attorney

6. accusing a republican of selling out is like accusing the rolling stones of selling out.
they're in it for the money from the get-go.

though there are myriad hypocrisies of which republicans are guilty, grabbing more money for themselves is not among them.

10. Well, duh!
People like that, who learn their lesson a little too late, create the Palins of the world. An informed and discerning Alaskan wouldn't have taken her seriously from the beginning. It's not like Alaskans aren't well read. They probably read more than most Americans because of the isolation many live in, but apparently their schools have failed them in teaching critical thinking.
