In Memoriam…
Some of the sticky notes have been dedicated to lost DUers. They keep floating by among the other messages. I find myself going to big board and looking for them. As I’ve said many times, DU is a real community where real friends are made. I’m grateful for so many of my DU friends, and there are so many whom we lost too soon.

I’d like to start a thread where we thank our friends who passed for something, anything in particular that had meaning for us.

We should all keep buying sticky notes, but I thought it would be meaningful to see a tribute to those passed all in one place, as has been done from time to time.

I won’t try to remember everyone. I know I will forget someone special. Please add the folks you remember and want to thank. Please go ahead and include someone who’s already been mentioned if that’s the person close to your heart.

Oneeighty – thanks for sending me your book. You said you were sending it because of kind words I once said to you and I don’t even remember what they were.

Blondeatlast – thanks for always having something thoughtful to say and thanks for announcing that I was alive and well after my car accident.

Khephra – thanks for sharing our hotel room in DC, thanks for your kind heart and thanks for always keeping us so quickly informed on everything.

1. I have oneighty's special book also. I treasure it.
And Khephra was as supportive of Howard Dean as we were back then.

22. There was a woman from Texas that I remember.
She had a cowboy boot as her avatar. I think of her but I'm not remembering her id right now. Hopefully someone will be able to refresh my memory.

27. In memory of blondeatlast
Ah, but she was so feisty, and so much fun. She stood up for important ideals with both combativeness and humor, and it was a delight to participate with her in the discussions.

Now and then I'll see a thread and be overcome with a sudden feeling of sadness, thinking "blondeatlast would have been all over this."

Not to sound like 'Fight Club,' but: Her first name was Lauren.

R.I.P., Lauren :patriot:
