Perry tries to scare americans: “A big black cloud” hangs over the country"
Just minutes earlier, while delivering remarks at the Des Moines Register Soapbox here, Perry focused his fire on President Obama, who will be in a different part of the state later Monday.

“He says he’s on a listening tour,” Perry said, “so I’m going to talk to him.” … Perry warned that a “big black cloud” hangs over the country.

“I think you want a president who is passionate about America — that’s in love with America.”

4. Well, there's definitely a black cloud over Texas, thanks to Perry.
Not to mention the one that hangs over him wherever he may be. Remember that guy in L'il Abner, the one with the black cloud that always hovered above his head? Joe Ixblix or something like that? Maybe that should be Perry's "nickname"--The Joe Ixblix of the 2012 Campaign.

Just a thought...

12. Btfsplk, not Ixblix
Btfsplk, according to Wikipedia.

As much as I detest Rick Perry's governorship, I think that he's just one (howbeit big) cloud in a sky full of Texas Republican strato-cumulus ruination. He wouldn't have gotten away with it if he didn't have PLENTY of help from the Republican-controlled state legislature, the knee-jerk Texas Republican voters and the politically-asleep lunkheads who don't bother to vote.

28. Thanks--shoulda googled that.
Always had a problem pronouncing his name so just went for Ixblix. And I couldn't agree more about the Texas republicans, voters, non-voters, legislators, on and on. I absolutely abhor the ugly e-mails I receive from a Texas cousin, but she just won't quit sending them. It's pointless to counter her rhetoric with the truth...so I pretty much ignore her now. So far she hasn't taken me off her Christmas card list!

Dumbya stripped as manny of those regs as he could and asthma rates skyrocketed. Perry is simply continuing the corporate health policy.

what he might want to talk about are some sane solutions to this country's many, many problems.

People are hurting financially, mentally, physically and not many are going to have the patience to listen to this kind of jackassery when their mortgage's about to be foreclosed on, they just got a pink slip, are on the last weeks of unemployment, fridge is empty and the lights are about to be turned off.

Perry fail and I hope it's one of a million.

20. “I think you want a president who is passionate about America — that’s in love with America.”
First of all - this is some crappy language usage. It should be "who is in love with America"

Secondly, what the heck is he trying to say here - "big black cloud" WTF?

And once again, the tired, worn out old chestnut that somehow Democrats don't love America as much as Republicans do. This is divisive bull shit and Perry should be called on it by the media. Not that it will happen. How exactly do you measure someone's "love for America" Mr. Perry? Please explain.

26. Perrys Texas Jobs
...he has his cronies in other states approach union shops and convince them to relocate/reopen as non union. In Erie PA we once had a thriving manufacturing base, till Chimpy got in. The head of our local "manufacturing association" went to Texas for a while, and when he returned, it was like a vaccum was sucking the jobs out of Erie. This "manufacturing association" is actually a right wing anti union group, headed by Ralph Pontillo, who sponsored Chimpys appearance here in Erie after he left office. Expect no help from DINO Mayor Joe Sinnot. Once a year, Pontillo and Mayor Sinnot cosponsor "Roar on the Shore", an event when all the republican gun loving boogereaters converge on the city, behave like aholes, and don't get bothered by the city cops. Soon a generation long democratic stronghold will be redistricted courtesy of Mike Kelly, put at the mercy of vast rural areas where methlabs are the only manufacturing going on. Sarah Palin wasn't kidding when she put Erie in her "crosshairs".

Schultz regrets Perry remark about 'big black cloud'

Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Monday says he sees a “big black cloud that hangs over America” – a remark that MSNBC host Ed Schultz quickly interpreted as being about President Barack Obama, which in turn prompted charges of race-baiting and deceptive editing by conservative blogs.

On Tuesday, Schultz addressed the criticism created by his incomplete quoting of Perry’s remarks in Iowa and said he regrets the error, but maintained that other controversial remarks this week by the Texas governor reveal his true nature.

“We did not present the full context of those statements and we should have,” Schultz said, then replaying the full Perry quote that made it clear the “big black cloud” Perry was referring to is the U.S. debt, and not President Obama, as Schultz maintained Monday. “No doubt about it, it was a mistake and we regret the error … we should not have included it in our coverage.”

39. What a crock of shit. This is pathetic. There is nothing here.
Perry is fiscally ruining his own state.
He's with that fringe crowd that wants Texas to secede.
Wages in Texas are below the national average.
He loves to claim that he hasn't raised taxes. He's a liar - he has.

Why the hell then is there a need to go hysterical and make shit up? You really have to chop up his statement, out of context, to get to that point.

He clearly was talking about the debt. It wasn't a slip. It wasn't a secret message to fellow haters of black people.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/18/jon-stewart-rips-ed-schultz_n_930618.html
No need to lie - the truth exposes Perry as an awful candidate, perhaps the worst among the worst from the other side.
He'll sink on his own.
No need to lie.

43. See, this doesn't do us any good at all.
It makes us look silly. If you listen to the comment, he talks about the 'big black cloud...the debt'... Was Bob Dylan singing about racism when he talks about 'that cold black cloud is coming down' in Knocking on Heaven's Door? Was JRR Tolkien being alliteratively racist in describing the 'black clouds over Mordor'? Why bother looking for racism where it doesn't exist -- AND will serve to easily ridicule us and drive away voters who might have otherwise listened to us -- when there is so much REAL racism (Hi, License Plates!) to look at? What POSSIBLE good is there in 'pointing out' this drivel that you have to actually be LOOKING for to notice...in the first place!?
