Edited on Wed Aug-17-11 09:25 PM by MannyGoldstein
Four big victories in WI, Republicans are starting to chill a bit (at least in public), Obama has gone several days without promising to cut entitlements, Romney took a hit, Bachmann won some sort of looney popularity contest.

A post on Bill Clinton's 65th birthday went a half-hour with zero responses.

If this were a song, we'd be at a suspended chord. It's going to resolve, not sure how. I hope all resolves well.

Maybe it's just August.

1. Yeah... you made a thread that didn't erroneously charge that Obama intends to cut SS

It *IS* getting weird around here.

;-)

3. I've never made a thread that erroneously charged such a thing
My threads on that score have all been correct.

5. Ah, but he alluded to it - "Obama has gone several days
without promising to cut entitlements".

Had to laugh - he got the dig in!

12. See, this is why your other thread, which you said ''broke no rules,'' was locked.
Personal attack / calling out.

8. August is the VACATION MONTH. Why sit indoors when the weather is nice?
There are thirteen recs (or more, that was last time I checked) on your thread.

I mean, really, what should people say? Happy Birthday Bill? And many more? Don't burn down the house with all those candles?

Or just check the Yee Haw Rec box and follow the link?

10. There's an old story about Beethoven that I kind of like.
Before he went completely deaf, Beethoven was guardian to a ne'er-do-well nephew who enjoyed taunting the musical genius. Some nights he would come home drunk while Beethoven was trying to sleep, and play a long, loud, unresolved chord on the piano, just hanging there, and then go to bed. Poor old Beethoven just couldn't get to sleep until he had gone down to the piano and played the chord's resolution.

We're in the hanging, unresolved chord phase...

11. That's a very, very cute story
And it probably gives great insight into Beethoven's music. Thanks!

16. I'm with you on that.
The Israel people are great but their government is antagonistic and war mongers. Just like ours.

15. I think people are getting fed up
It's hot. No relief.
Gas prices should be going down but aren't.
Even Walmart's sales are down.

As a country, we are at an abyss. We are staring into it and deciding the best course of action.

As far as the politicians? They are all on an extended vacay and not worried one whit about the American people.

I've had my thoughts on how this will end...and chances are, it won't end well.

Here is to living in interesting times. :toast:
